Terms of service

We ship our recumbents in a kit form in order to keep our prices as low as possible. Many of our customers are new to recumbent trikes and bikes. 

However - assembly is required for these products.

Although we have instructional videos and instructions, we strongly encourage you to have a local bike shop assemble these bike and trikes for you. It is possible there will be a fee from your local bike shop to assemble and tune it, but that’s why we try to keep the initial pricing so low. And - having a professionally built and tunes bike or trike will make a huge difference in the ride and building a relationship with your local bike shop is important. Unless you know how to cut chain, tune derailleurs and brakes, perform toe-in adjustment, etc you should consider having a professional do it. Unless you are a bike mechanic or experienced working on your own bikes, getting help is the best way to go.

Please note that we try to list the usual components and parts installed on the bikes or trikes, but during these times we can’t guarantee the exact availability of components. Definitely know that Performer always strives to use the best components for the price. 

SHIPPING

  • Currently MOST orders other than options indicated as US stock and  MetaBikes are shipping directly from Taiwan.
  • All custom orders that ship from Taiwan will ship approximately 3-4 weeks from order. You will receive tracking info once your order ships.
  • Shipping on orders of complete bikes (EXCEPT the carbon fiber tandem, carbon trike, and carbon recumbent) is a flat $275. This is a significant discount off of our ACTUAL shipping cost which is now $650 per bike/trike. The carbon fiber models, e-assist trikes and tandems require additional shipping/packing charges.
  • Pricing on smaller orders varies by order amount and is automatically added at checkout.

    Returns

    Any bike or trike that has been fully assembled and ridden is not returnable. Carbon fiber trikes and bikes are not returnable.

    • All returns as outlined below are accepted within 10 days of receiving your order.
    • Opened UNASSEMBLED returned items (bikes, trikes, etc.) needs to be packaged the exact same way in the original box it was received. Please email us at sales@newagebikeworks.com to discuss the return. At this time you will receive a return number and address to ship to.
    • Assembled and ridden bikes and trikes are NOT returnable. No exceptions.
    • It is the customers responsibility to arrange shipping and pay shipping costs.
    • After receiving the returned product it will be inspected for wear, damage, missing parts etc.
    • A re-stocking charge of 20% applies to all bike and trike returns, damage costs, and cost of missing parts will be subtracted from the amount refunded.
    • If the box has not been opened, returning it is only a 5% re-stock cost.
